Over the past year, TUFGRIP have commissioned several comparative test on our roller covering range*, putting it to the test against our rivals, and without exception, the quality and life-span of the TUFGRIP range far exceeded that of any of our competition. These include coverings sourced from Germany/Spain/Italy/USA, and Asia. The conclusions drawn up from the testing are as follows:

Tufgrip Products Last Longer

TUFGRIP products last up to 54% longer than rival European and US products, and more than double the life expectancy of many rival Asian coverings**. This is predominantly because the TUFGRIP range is totally homogeneous, and manufactured without fillers or dual layers, (as with most of our competition). Most of our rivals produce thicker coverings, but don’t be fooled by this. They bolster the thickness by using both cheep fillers in the material, and creating layers of cheap material, on to which they add a textured surface. (A material made up of fillers will turn white when you bend it in half, and duel layered material can be easily identified by looking at a cross section of the material to identify the different layers) At TUFGRIP we source and use the very best quality suppliers for the materials to make our covering. We are constantly working with our suppliers to improve our product and service, with the benefits being passed on to our customers.

Tufgrip Products Have A Constant Coefficient Of Friction

Rival coverings that use fillers and layered material have a very random coefficient of friction, this in part is due to the make up of the covering (fillers and layered material), but also to differences in the quality of materials sourced from their suppliers. This causes problems as the friction rate of any roller using this kind of covering can vary significantly, thus not giving a constant drive to any surface in contact with the roller. The Tufgrip range retains the exact same coefficient of friction throughout the life of the material. This gives a constant drive as the material wears, but more importantly, the TUFGRIP range is still 84 – 87% effective, even when the textured surface has worn away completely, thus increasing the life of the material at little cost to the friction rate.

Tufgrip Products Have A Constant Wear Rate

Tufgrip products, because of their make up, wear at a constant rate. This is a benefit as it means a customer can accurately predict when a covering will need replacing, thus reducing down time and saving money. Rival coverings that are predominantly made up of fillers and layered material, do not have a constant wear rate. This makes it hard to predict when a covering may need changing, meaning a customer has to keep more stock than intended in case their material wears out when they don’t expect it.

The TUFGRIP range is also designed not to contaminate any material it is in contact with as it wears, worn material falls to the floor and isn’t left behind on the material it is in contact with. Rival coverings, predominantly those which use fillers to bolster their thickness and make them cheaper to make, more often than not, leave a powdery residue on the material it is driving. This is the filler coming out of the material.
